Review of the Nimble one finger cutter

Zec Richardson is a blogger and reviewer at Satonmybutt and will be part of our in-house team taking a closer look at some of our products. Today he is reviewing the Nimble one finger cutter.

There is nothing more frustrating than a product that is sealed in plastic, making it difficult for someone without any health problems or a disability to open.

Due to disability, health or age, scissors can be difficult for many of us. That is where the Nimble one finger cutter comes in – and it costs just £4.95 on the Disability Horizons Shop.

I have actually been using one for a few years after being sent it by the designers and it is a fabulous little product.

Inside the box, the Nimble is sat in a piece of card with basic instructions – because this product is perfectly simple.

The yellow rubber thimble (hence the name) fits different size fingers, and on the tip is a tiny ceramic blade. Trust me when I say that it is very difficult to cut yourself.

Please do not do it but for the sake of a review, but I tried and thankfully survived without a scratch!

Yes, that does make it sound like this wouldn’t cut butter, but it is very effective when used on paper, plastics and even on those awful blister packs.

It’s also perfect for cutting out coupons, cutting paper and thin card and so is a great tool for crafting.

What I also like is that it doesn’t even require very much effort to open packs. This includes bacon and cheese (yep, you have guessed my diet!) and is perfect for parcels. It would be great if your work has you opening a lot of packages.

So, for people who struggle to use scissors, especially if it causes them pain or discomfort, or they can’t use them for safety reasons, the Nimble is an amazing product.

I actually keep one in the pouch on the front of my wheelchair. And because the blade is so hard to cut yourself on, there is no risk of injury when rooting around in a bag for one!

For my reviews, I check a product out thoroughly so that I can be honest. I also try to note any faults that I find. But I cannot fault the Nimble in any way at all.

I received the Nimble in the blue box, but they can also come in the pink box, as pictured at the top of this review. The one I received also contained no plastic at all, which I really like and is very important.
