We’re taking a short winter break, and the shop is now closed for dispatch until Monday 19 January 2026.
You can still place orders as normal during this time, but please note that anything ordered now will not be sent out until we reopen on the 19th. We know delays aren’t ideal, and we really appreciate your patience while our small team takes a proper rest.
One small exception: some orders that ship directly from our disabled entrepreneur suppliers may arrive sooner. These partners dispatch independently, so delivery times can vary depending on the product.
Why we pause dispatch
Disability Horizons Shop is run by a very small team, working closely with disabled makers and innovators. Pausing dispatch over winter gives everyone involved time to reset, plan ahead, and make sure we’re doing things properly rather than rushing stock out the door.
It also means we can start the new year with a bit more energy and a lot more ideas.
Trabasack Curve stock update

While we’re sharing updates, a quick note on Trabasack Curve, our most popular model. It’s currently out of stock after a surge in demand before Christmas.
The next shipment is due in March 2026, and we’re taking extra care to make sure quality is right. Planning large production runs is never simple for a small company, especially when demand jumps unexpectedly, but we’d rather wait a little longer than compromise on build or materials.
The good news is that we’ll be partnering with Active Hands in the new year. This will help make Trabasack products available through more international resellers, reducing stock gaps and improving access for people outside the UK.
If you need an alternative in the meantime, Curve Connect or the Mini Trabasack are both still in stock and work well for everyday use.
Looking ahead to the new year
Even while the shop is quiet on the surface, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes. We’re working on new ideas and collaborations, including plans to launch a new product that helps people open doors.
Yes, we know. Improving access really is our prime directive.
We’ll be sharing more on that soon. For now, thank you for supporting disabled-led businesses, for sticking with us during short pauses like this, and for being part of a community that understands why doing things thoughtfully matters.
