The Ramble Tag is a visually impaired guidance aid designed to be worn on the upper arm of a guide to increase pleasure and independence for blind and visually impaired people while walking with a sighted guide.
The Ramble Tag was designed by two neighbours, Tom and Laura, after they found holding the guide’s arm was becoming rather difficult, uncomfortable and unsafe when walking their dogs together. They wanted a guiding aid that can be used in a variety of settings such as outdoor walks, running, using public transport or attending a music or sports events.
So, rather than holding the guide’s elbow, wrist or hand, the visually impaired person can hold a handle attached to the Ramble Tag that is strapped comfortably to the guide’s upper arm.
This device is perfect for blind and visually impaired people to use when requiring assistance to board a plane, train or ferry, guided to their seat at a theatre or stadium or when doing outdoor activities such as walking or running, and don’t want to have direct contact with the member of staff or the public guiding them.
Although we specify LEFT or RIGHT, they can be worn on either arm. This design specification is just for ease when putting it on yourself.
The Ramble Tag is available in four colours – black, orange, red and blue (subject to availability)
Please note:
- The Ramble Tag is not a lifting device
- Never put your whole hand through the loop
- Do not use on escalators
- Wipe clean or hand wash with gentle soap.

The Ramble Tag guidance aid comes in four styles:
Regular
This Original Ramble Tag guidance aid has a soft touch and slip-resistant interior and fastens with two velcro straps. There is a padded loop handle with a firm but light rope interior to enhance the amount of physical information received from the guide.
Not only does it have a stylish outer appearance, it is practical and efficient in all weathers and a comfortable alternative to linking arms while allowing for free movement.
Measurements: Arm circumference between 25cm and 42cm
XL
The Extra Large Ramble Tag guidance aid has the same features as the Original but with a larger circumference.
Measurements: Arm circumference between 30cm to 50cm
Metro
The Metro Ramble Tag visually impaired guidance aid is an alternative to the Original Ramble Tag, even more compact, with a much tighter handle for added closeness to your guide. This handle is not reinforced with rope. It can easily be stuck in a pocket, or a bag.
It has a non-slip-resistant interior and fastens with two velcro straps. The close-grip handle means close contact with the guide.
Measurements: Arm circumference between 25cm and 42cm
Small
This Small Ramble Tag guidance aid is designed to be worn on the wrist of a sighted guide and can be worn with the handle pointing up or down the arm.
This can be used in two ways, either for sports/guide running or guiding a child/adult.
Measurements: Arm circumference between 19cm and 25cm
