Supporting Disabled Entrepreneurs: Joseph McGough’s MotoHeroMission
At DH Shop, we like to highlight and support disabled entrepreneurs who are turning their interests into meaningful projects. Whether in gaming, motorsports, or advocacy, we believe in sharing practical stories of people making things happen.
One of those people is Joseph McGough, a disabled gamer and motorsport fan who has been working on MotoHeroMission—a platform that combines racing game reviews, motorsport content, and advocacy for stroke awareness and rider safety.
Joseph has a clear plan to grow MotoHeroMission into a full media platform, engaging with motorsport fans, race organisers, and brands to bring game reviews, event coverage, and rider stories into one space.
Here’s more about his project in his own words.
My Journey from Stroke Survivor to Motorsport Advocate
Hi, my name is Joseph McGough, and since surviving a stroke in 2013, I’ve been on a mission to progress, improve my life, and accomplish my dreams.
Gaming has always been a big part of my life, and even as a disabled gamer, I’ve found ways to continue enjoying what I love. Now, after years of training and recovery, I’ll soon be riding on the road again.
At the same time, I’m launching #MotoHeroMission, a project that will bring motorsports and gaming together in a full-fledged website, social media platform, and video channel. This will feature professionally produced motorsport game reviews, along with rider stories and recovery journeys from disabled fans and visitors.
What is MotoHeroMission?
MotoHeroMission is more than just a passion project—it’s my long-term vision. The goal is to create a hub for motorsport game reviews, motorsport news, and inspiring stories.
Here’s what it will feature:
- Racing and driving game video reviews
- Stories from riders and motorsport fans who have overcome challenges
- Stroke awareness and advocacy, promoting safety and health for everyday riders
- Collaboration with race organisers, drivers, riders, and sponsors to bring #MotoHeroMission into live race events
I am also urging organisations like the American Heart and Stroke Association to participate and lend their support.
Giving Back
MotoHeroMission isn’t just about games and motorsports—it’s about making a difference.
- A percentage of sales from the MotoHeroMission website (which will offer motorcycle decals, graphics, and clothing) will be donated to stroke awareness and advocacy.
- I will also be supporting the ASPCA, as I’ve always loved animals and have had them in my life for years.
My Background in Gaming
I’ve been a long-time gamer, starting out on an Atari 2600 and still gaming today. Over the years, I’ve attended many midnight launches, stacked up pre-order bonuses, and completed a huge number of games across all genres.
With my deep knowledge of gameplay, graphics, and modern storytelling, I plan to use my experience in promotional networking, journalism, and social media content creation to grow MotoHeroMission into something bigger.
The Future of MotoHeroMission
MotoHeroMission will feature dedicated and professional 4K and VR videos, showcased on a YouTube channel and website.
I welcome any donations, motorsport-related items, or vehicles to review, which would help create engaging content for subscribers and followers.
All videos produced by MotoHeroMission will also promote rider safety and health, emphasising their importance for everyday riders.
How to Support MotoHeroMission
For more information about my journey, riding history, disabilities, photos, and documents. You can check out my profile on X (@MotoHeroMission) and my GoFundMe campaigns.
I believe that attending motorsport events, car and motorcycle shows, and advocating for stroke and heart awareness will not only help this campaign grow, but also bring exposure to any participants willing to lend a vehicle for review.
MotoHeroMission will soon be registered as a business and official charity to further support these causes.
Thank you for your time and support,
Joseph McGough
