PPE safety glasses – 3 styles

  • Durable and reusable safety glasses
  • Lightweight and ergonomic with adjustable arms
  • Easy to clean and sanitise
  • Transparent frame for improved visibility
  • Hard anti-scratch coat and anti-fog treatment

These durable, reusable safety glasses are suitable for care home staff, health care facilities or personal assistants and carers. They help minimise the risk of infection from coronavirus/Covid-19 for both the key worker and the person they care for.

Made from sturdy plastic, they offer eye protection against bodily fluids, such as spray from sneezes and coughs or splashes when completing personal care or medical tasks.

They feature a transparent frame for improved side protection and visibility. The robust safety lenses have a hard anti-scratch coat and anti-fog treatment to ensure they remain clear and scuff-free whilst in use.

Each pair of safety glasses is designed to be lightweight and ergonomic, to reduce weight on the ears and nose when wearing for prolonged periods of time, but are still large enough to wear over standard spectacles.

There are three versions, two of which are designed for adults and children and have adjustable arms at the temples.

They are easy to clean and sanitise by using soap and water or an antibacterial cleanser.

Please note, these glasses don’t protect the mouth or nose from splashes, so should be used in conjunction with further face protection, such as a face mask.

The three styles to choose from are:

  • transparent frame
  • black upper-frame with adjustable arms for adults or children
  • blue upper-frame with adjustable arms for adults or children

These products are being supplied to help people who employ carers and personal assistants who are finding it difficult to obtain protective equipment for care staff and themselves from their local authorities, healthcare agencies or via reputable suppliers online.

We also support people with disabilities, health conditions or those in ‘clinically vulnerable’ groups and their families who wish to choose a higher level of personal protection than the Government is recommending for the general public.

Due to the unprecedented changes caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government has allowed flexible use of Direct Payments and Continuing Healthcare budgets.

If you employ any assistants or staff for your care, this includes the ability for you to buy PPE. Please check with local guidance to see if this applies to you and your Direct Payment or Continuing Healthcare budget.

Can I use my direct payment to buy PPE for PAs I employ?

If your existing direct payment contains funding to purchase PPE for your PA, you should continue to use that funding to purchase PPE. If you, or your PA, cannot obtain PPE in this way, or your direct payment is not set up to fund PPE, you should ask for assistance from the local authority or CCG that provides your direct payment who should help you to get the PPE you require.Department of Health & Social Care
